Swami Rama was talking about “Shaktipat”.
I pray to the divinity in you.
Shaktipat is something very rare. If anyone tells you that there is mass shaktipat, do not listen to that person. It’s a joke. It’s cheating.
Those who try to do that, they know that they are cheating, the students. When a student works hard, makes all sincere efforts, and finds the final barrier and he cannot cross that, then he comes before the teacher who is competent enough, who knows all the hurdles and barriers and obstacles on the path of enlightenment.
Then, he blesses him, touches him, looks at him through sound, through gauge, through touch.
He gives his shakti, he inspires, and then you cross that barrier. That is called shaktipata.
Kundalini is coiled shakti.
Kunda means a ball of fire.
At the root of the spinal column resides primal fire, powerhouse of your body.
Most of that power remains unused by us.
As long as that power remains unused, a human being remains brute and primitive.
When you know how to make use of that power, how to utilize that reservoir, which is already within you, then that
process is called awakening of kundalini.
There are many methods, but the methods, which you often read in the books, are not at all helpful.
It’s misleading.
To awaken the shakti within you, to awaken the power that is already within you, there are shortcuts for that and there are method for that.
But one thing that is important, it’s not a commodity that is available in the market, it’s that something you have to awaken with the help of that someone who is a competent teacher, and it is possible for one to do it.
Ego and uncontrolled mind are two disturbances.
Ego does not want to do any such thing. It wants to limit you.
It does not know how to expand.
It does not know the philosophy of expansion.
It only knows the philosophy of contraction.
Ego does not want you to expand your consciousness.
Ego problem is one thing.
Then, distractive mind, un-orderly mind, which does not believe in discipline, in one-pointedness.
Then, lack of faith also.
These are three main hindrances in awakening that power, which is called kundalini. But it is not impossible.
It’s not difficult either. You can do it if you really have a teacher and if you want to awaken that power within.
